Franz Höfer
Comment from Franz Höfer, Austrian triathlete, after his serious fall at the triathlon world Cup in Kitzbühl, Austria in July 2009:
“The last few weeks were not easy for me, because the injury in my pelvic is very persistent. For about 2 ½ weeks, I now treat my injuries 2-3 times daily in the adductor and shoulder areas with the pillow. The healing mainly in the shoulder area works really quickly and I am now nearly pain free in the shoulder.”

First experience with Magnetic Field Therapy:
Anyone who knows me, knows that since I am doing triathlon I have a life as a semi-sport invalid. In all the15 years of cycling I had no where near as many problems and little aches and pains as in the last 3 years, as triathlete. To enumerate them all now would probably be too much for you; regular readers know my lines of "miserable stories."
My back in particular gives me hard time lately. At the moment I have come to halfway grips with the problem by getting massages, acupuncture, shiatsu treatment and just today once again an improved wheel position by Raimund Pucher.
I also try new approaches of therapy at the moment. The company MAS was generous, and gave me a high-quality magnetic field mat for the time being. I have even been lying on such a mat a few years ago and actually had a very good impression of this. I have not really dealt with it at the time but that is going to change.
After an extensive schooling, I took the fantastic device home; consisting of a mat and a pillow. There are many programmes available that can be customized to your own desires. In the last 2 weeks I have been testing and trying out so many things and I am really inspired.
I use the magnetic field before and after exercises, depending on whether I want to bring my cells in motion or calm them down. I exceedingly like the night programme, which works with the frequencies of deep sleep. I leave the mat switched on all night and I sleep like a baby ever since. In the morning I feel refreshed and my usual back pains are also cutback appreciably.
Additionally, I have noticed that my recovery times are considerably reduced, a fact that is not negligible for me as a working person, especially now as the training is quite extensive.
I will deal with this matter much more thoroughly in the next few weeks; this should only be a short report on one’s experience. So far I clearly know too little about this thing and what it can do!
Just something at the end - this example shows me again that the whole stupid debate and doping misery is really ridiculous. I can only laugh at those who think that good performance in sport must always be related to doping and in particular the critics with the notion that top performance is impossible without doping. Just look at how many possibilities, no matter what kind, they are to optimize one’s body in a legal manner and think about how the best performer in the world works.
Whether it is an optimized nutrition, targeted use of dietary supplements, the optimization of materials, effective training, the best possible regeneration or a relaxed private environment - all these matters have a lot more effect than the best-doping-drugs in the world, especially in such a complex sport as triathlon. These are all things in which there is probably a huge amount of potential for optimization in each one of us.
